County Marine Corps League chartered



The Sheboygan County Detachment #1446 of the Marine Corps League received their charter last month during a Presentation of Detachment Charter meeting held at the VFW Post 9156 in Sheboygan. Presenting the charter was the State MCL Commandant Doug Manthe. Receiving the Charter was Sheboygan County Detachment #1446 Commandant George Heaney. Detachment members include (front row, left to right) Robert Sizonen, James Cummings, George Heaney, Joe Heaney, (middle row) Bill Ubbink, Andre Anderson, Larry Kunstmann, Jack Hogue, Randy Gerritson, (back row) Gregory Hansen, Benjamin Mattson, Al Ammerman, Herb Dallas, David Schemrich and Ken Wilhite. The Marine Corps League is a Marine Corps-oriented organization comprised of persons who are serving, or have served, honorably in the United States Marine Corps. It was established in June, 1923, during a reunion in New York of Marines who had served in World War I. The league was chartered by an act of the United States Congress in 1937.
