ELKHART LAKE – The host Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters finished third in the Big East Conference boys golf meet Tuesday afternoon at the Quit Qui Oc Golf Club.

The Resorters shot 169 on the front nine and were led by Dante Miller and Max Ward who were in a three-way tie for sixth with 41s.

The Howards Grove Tigers placed fourth at 171. HG was paced by Matthew Bagnall and Jack Baldwin who were in a three-way tie for third with 40s.

Sheboygan Lutheran won the meet, which included all of the BEC teams, with 163. Kohler took second at 167. The medalist was Mishicot’s Austin Schnell with an even-par 35. The runnerup medalist was Drake Wilcox of Lutheran with a 37.

Elkhart’s other low players were Brennen Cain with a 42 and Anthony Klahn, 45. HG’s other low golfers were Mason Valenstein with a 44, and tying for the fourth score at 47 were Jacob Brunner and Ryan Splittgerber.

“We played well and we were happy to get the meet in. It was very wet and pretty cold but all of the schools gutted it out,” said Resorter head coach Bart Larson.

“Dante, Max and Brennen continue to play well and we just hope to keep improving.”
