Phyllis Bardon, age 84, of Elkhart Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (May 3, 2017) at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center in Plymouth.

She was born in Glenbeulah, WI on Nov. 18, 1932, daughter of the late Bernard and Mabel (Roltgen) Gannon.

Phyllis attended grade school in Glenbeulah and graduated from Glenbeulah High School in 1950. She later attended Normal School in Sheboygan to earn her teaching degree. She taught at Hulls Crossing School for one year.

On May 31, 1953, she married Oscar Bardon at St. Fridolin’s Catholic Church in Glenbeulah. Phyllis worked with Oscar as a bookkeeper and accountant for all the family businesses, until they retired at age 75. Oscar preceded her in death on August 4, 2015.

She was a former member at St. Fridolin’s Catholic Church in Glenbeulah where she served as a CCD teacher, and also served on the Christian Mother’s Society. She was a current member at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake.

Phyllis loved golfing, bowling, snowmobiling, reading, knitting, and loved to entertain family and friends in her home.

Survivors include: Two sons: David (Janell) Bardon of Elkhart Lake and Dennis (Carol) Bardon of LaPorte, IN; Son-in-law: Ron (Janell) Nielsen of Elkhart Lake; Eight grandchildren: Jeremy (Amy) Bardon of Appleton, Jessica (Gregorio) Waldron of Brown Deer, Joshua (Kayla) Bardon of Elkhart Lake, Amy (Rob) Gennardo of Marietta, GA, Katie (Jake) Walz of Louisville, KY, Bradley (Stephanie) Nielsen of Fond du Lac, Becky Nielsen of Brown Deer, and Nicole (Joe) Thielmann of Indianapolis, IN; 13 Great-grandchildren: Jared, Jenna, Kylie, Kiera, Gregorio, Parker, Amaya, Olivia, Benjamin, Zachary, Bailee, Cora, and Mason; Sisters: Jean (Gene) Holzmann of McFarland, Mary Buttler of Menasha, Bernadine (Don) Ditter of Glenbeulah, and Kathleen (Ralph) Tredway of Brighton, MI; Sisters in-law: Ruby (Palmer) Feldmann of FL and Charlene (Carl) Wimmler of Plymouth; Brother-in-law: Robert (Sandy) Bardon of Renton, WA.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Oscar, daughter: Lori (Bardon) Nielsen, and brother-in-law: Richard Butler.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday (May 6, 2017) at 2:00 P.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Elkhart Lake. Father Dennis Van Beek officiated. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.

Visitation took place at the church on Saturday (May 6) from 12:00 Noon until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Phyllis’ name for the Alzheimer’s Association.
