Resorters stumble in Big East play

NEENAH – Shoddy defense hurt the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters as they fell to St. Mary Catholic, 9-0, in a Big East Conference softball game here Thursday afternoon.

The loss dropped the Resorters’ BEC record to 10-5 (11-5 overall). The Zephyrs improved to 7-9 in the BEC (8-9 overall).

Elkhart committed six errors which led to six unearned runs.

Megan Waage and Ciara Hassinger; Katelyn Gullickson and Alicia Thone. W – Gullickson. L – Waage. 2Bs – Elkhart Lake, Kaylin Kalbacke_ n; St. Mary, Brittney Stumpf. twirled a five-hit shutout. She walked none and recorded seven strikeouts.

Megan Waage took the loss. She went the distance and gave up three earned runs on nine hits with three walks and six strikeouts.

Brittney Stumpf led the Zephyrs’ attack with three hits and two RBIs.

Claire Feldmann and Hannah Donhauser paced EL-G in hits with two each.
