Elkhart knocked Mishocot out of first place in the Big East Conference race with a 5-4 victory. The Indians were ranked No. 10 in the wissports.net Division 4 poll last week. Mishicot is 17-1 in BEC play (21-2 overall), with Random Lake in first at 16-0.

The Resorters, who lost 9-0 to St. Mary Catholic (Neenah) Thursday, improved to 11-5 in the league (12-5 overall).

Claire Feldmann’s two-run single gave Elkhart a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Resorters stayed ahead the rest of the way.

“The girls dug deep and really responded well after Thursday’s game. We needed this win after losing three straight and this will help us for regional seeding,” said Resorter head coach Brian Feldmann.
