HG seeks info on park damage

HOWARDS GROVE.The Village Board is seeking information on property damage to the Riverside Park in Howards Grove.

The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Riverside Park about 4 p.m. Monday, April 24, for a report of multiple vehicles causing extensive damage to the grass in the park. It was estimated that the damage was about $3,000.

Any information regarding the damage to the property may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 through Sheboygan County Crimestoppers at www.cufthem or 1-877-283-8436.

The certified survey map for Laverne Siegert of W12060N County A, Sheboygan Falls, was approved. Siegert would like to split off one acre of land with no improvements from a larger parcel for Wisconsin Public Service to use for a gas facility and for updating, rebuilding and replacing of the current facility.

A contract with Kapur & Associates at a cost of $14,072 for construction management services for the rehabilitation of Appletree Road from Bittersweet Lane to Garton Road was approved for street construction and sewer work.

A final resolution was adopted authorizing public improvement and levying special assessments against benefited properties in the village of Howards Grove for Kennedy Avenue.

The village trustees gave approval to start the loan application process for the wastewater plant update. The money will be funded from the Wisconsin Clean Water Fund.

The process of borrowing the money on a 20-year payback plan at 4 percent with 1 percent payback from Wisconsin Clean Water will be discussed at the next public works meeting.

Village President James Scheiber appointed Dan Binversie to a three-year term on the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Village Trustee Jim Bilgo has submitted his resignation effective June 30, 2017.

The village attorney is drafting a contract between the village of Elkhart Lake and Howards Grove for ordinance enforcement.

A meeting is still needed for employee reviews. The dog nuisance issue has been resolved. Traffic issues by the middle school need to be looked at.

Preparation for the 50th anniversary is coming along well and progress will be noted in the village newsletter.
