Blood drive set for Monday

The spring Plymouth Area Blood Drive will be held Monday, May 22, at Redeemer Lutheran, 1808 Eastern Ave. This will be the third of six blood drives held throughout the year. The hours will be from 12 noon to 5 p.m.

The drive is co-sponsored by the Plymouth Lions and the Plymouth American Legion Post 243 and hosted by the BloodCenter of Wisconsin, a non-profit organization that supplies the blood for use in over 50 Wisconsin hospitals as well as Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Froederts Children’s Hospital and the Aurora Surgery Center, Plymouth.

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin currently has shortages in most of the eight blood types. During the March Drive, thanks to our great volunteers, 52 units were collected. The groups have set a goal of 55 donations throughout the day.

If you are busy you may call and get an appointment - go to or call 1-877-232-4376 and mention the Plymouth Blood Drive. The Blood Center also stresses that walkins are very welcome.

It takes roughly an hour to go through the donation process. Potential donors need to be healthy, have a driver’s license or a photo ID and the ability to give some medical information.

More blood drives will be held on Mondays - July 24, Sept. 25 and Nov. 27.
