Flames red-hot in Rock River opener

MEQUON – The Plymouth Flames pounded out 13 hits and received strong pitching from Derek Hall as they routed host Thiensville-Mequon, 14-1, Sunday afternoon.

The game was the Rock River Baseball League opener for the Flames who improved to 3-2 overall.

Hall chalked up 10 strikeouts and walked only two en route to the win. He allowed one earned run on eight hits.

Hall also cracked three hits which shared the team lead with Zac Cain. Eric Heidenreiter and Zach Gambrell contributed two hits each.

Cain led the Flames in RBIs with three. Hall and Ben Gordon had two each.

Plymouth drew 10 walks, including a team-high three by Greg Rhude. Rhude also scored a team-high three runs.

Kyle Rogers paced the Twins in hits with two.
