Meeting Minutes

The meeting of the Auxiliary of the Haslee-Doebert-Schmidt American Legion Unit #261 was called to order by President Leslie Sanzo on Thursday April 13 at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Greenbush.

A prayer was read by Bernadine Strong.

A moment of silence was observed for our deceased members.

10 Senior members answered roll call.

The minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report was read and filed for audit.

Liz Quackenboss reported on the Sunshine fund. Delores Miller purchased the geraniums for the deceased members.

Kathy Bardon and Bernie Strong gave a report on the Spring County meeting held on April 1 at Random Lake.

We judged the Poppy Posters designed by the sixth grade art class from the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah school. Our first place winner is Emma Lehrke and second place was Janna Blad. Thank you, children. They were well done.

Our Poppy Princess will be Lauren Johnson, granddaughter of Ron and Janet Biskobing of Glenbeulah. She will be at the Greenbush Cemetery for the Memorial Day Service and ride in the Greenbush Fireman’s parade.

We were informed of our Badger Girls State attendants. They are Aryka Klemme and Sarah Scheider. They are juniors at the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School. These young ladies have committed to attending the Badger Girls State week at U.W. Oshkosh in June.

We will have a summer luncheon on August 5 at 1 p.m.

We will clean and set up tables on Thursday May 4 for the Chicken Roast and Brat Fry and Raffle on May 7.

You are asked to bring one 9x13 torte or two pies by 10 a.m. on May 7. Also new items for the Paddle Raffle to be held during the event.

We will collect aluminum cans and pop top tabs during the May 7 Chicken Roast and Brat Fry. You can also bring “food for the Food Pantry.”

We will be hosting a Brat Fry at the Piggly Wiggly August 12.

We were served a delicious lunch by Leslie Sanzo. Door prized were won by Carolyn Leynse, Janet Biskobing and Kay Keyes.

Our next meeting is Thursday May 11 at 6 p.m. at the Greenbush Legion Hall.

We will continue to save pop top tabs and aluminum cans, food for the Food Pantry, Coupons from the Sunday paper and The Sunshine Fund.
