Falls NewsphotobySteveOttman The Sheboygan Falls High School boys tennis swept all six singles matches to gain two dual meet victories in the final week of the regular season to improve to 6-2 in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference (10-2 overall).

The Falcons played its last match of the season against Kewaskum, Thursday. May 18,

The two teams came into the meet tied for third place in the EWC.

Falls won 4-3 as each of the Falcons’ singles players posted victories..

No. 3 singles player Jordan Mielke was behind 4-1 in the first set before winning 11 games in a row to gain the third victory of the day.

No, 4 singles player Jason Bonner won after a close first set for the team’s fourth match win.

In doubles action, the No. 2 doubles team of Tyson Reschke and Mitch Christensen lost a close match 6-4, 6-4.

Falls defeated Two Rivers 5-2 Tuesday, May 16.

The Falcons’ singles players each won in straight sets and the No. 3 doubles team of Aaron Vue and Chen Xiong also won in straight sets.

“Aaron and Chen have struggled at times with following up after a first set win,” said Falcons’ head coach Leigh Cherveny. “Not this time as they won in two sets. Good serving was a key.

In the No. 1 singles contest, Brayden Much played his consistent style to an easy victory and No. 2 singles competitor Aaron Mullikin won his first set based on his 70 percent firstserve ratio.. The second set was won in a tie breaker again on the strength of Mullikin’s serving.
