Elkhart Lake remembers




Elkhart Lake marked Memorial Day Saturday with the annual ceremony at the Memorial Park, sponsored by the village and the Elkhart Lake Lions Club. The program featured a flag raising by the Sheboygan County squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (below left), patriotic musical selections from the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah High School choir and band, and a ceremonial rifle volley from the American Legion Post 261 followed by the playing of taps (above). Featured speaker Capt. Alicia K. Grados spoke on the origins of the Memorial Day holiday and its continued meaning and significance today. Grados, communications officer for the 3rd Brigade, 95th Training Division, lives in Elkhart Lake.
