Bernice E. Daigle, age 97, Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday afternoon, May 26th at The Waterford Assisted Living facility in Plymouth, where she had been residing the past year.

She was born on January 1, 1920 in the Town of Rhine, Sheboygan Co., WI, the daughter of the late Arthur and Nelda (Kraemer) Binder.

She attended Lime Ridge School and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1936.

On February 9, 1957 she married Myron Daigle in Sheboygan, WI. Together they owned and operated Daigle Mink Ranch in Cascade.

Bernice worked at Morningside Nursing Home in Sheboygan and Rocky Knoll Health Care facility until the time of retirement in 1986 providing compassion and comfort to those around her. She was a former member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church Women’s Guild in Sheboygan and Vacation Bible School teacher. She was a former President of Longfellow School PTA and a member of the Better Films Council of Sheboygan. She also volunteered as a School Health Nurse and at Rocky Knoll Health Care facility after her retirement. She was a long time member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

Bernice enjoyed the simple things in life like taking a Sunday afternoon ride through the Sheboygan County Marsh across the road from where she grew up and stopping for a sandwich or ice cream. She enjoyed singing and music and at one time sang in the church choir. She amazed her family with her ability to play the organ despite not being able to read music. One of her cherished memories was when her son, Ronald retired from the Navy and she took her first airplane flight to attend the ceremony and was able to board the USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier. Bernice had a kind and gentle spirit, yet strong inner strength and will be greatly missed by her loving family.

She is survived by eight children: Ronald Immel of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Kathryn Vranak of Sheboygan, Sandra Beringer of Sheboygan, Thomas Daigle of Plymouth, Deborah (Brian) Feider of Town of Sheboygan, Dennis (Dawn) Daigle of Kohler, Betty (Steve) Davenport of Fond du Lac and David (Karen) Daigle of New Berlin. She is further survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as other family and friends.
