Plymouth native Austin new director of public works

The city of Plymouth has named Catherine Austin, P.E. director of public works/city engineer.

She replaces Director of Public Works/City Engineer Bill Immich, who retired from the city of Plymouth after approximately 27 years of service on June 2. Austin began her duties in late May.

Austin comes to Plymouth from the city of Kenosha where she served as the deputy director of public works/city engineer. Her prior positions with Kenosha include serving as the deputy director of engineering and civil engineer I-III. She has experience in both civil engineering and public works operations.

Austin holds a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is also a graduate of Plymouth High School. She is registered with the state of Wisconsin as a professional engineer.

Austin will perform complex supervisory, administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, directing and supervising the Public Works Department and Water/Sewer Divisions of Plymouth Utilities.
