Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice held its annual Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony on May 25 to pay tribute to veterans cared for in the hospice program this past year. More than 16 members of the Ladewig-Zinkgraf Post 243 of the American Legion in Plymouth and Prescott-Bayens Post 83 of the American Legion in Sheboygan presented arms (above) and laid the memorial wreath (inset). In the past year Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice cared for 111 veterans in our community. The ceremony was attended by more than 50 family members. Since 2013, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice has been a part of the We Honor Veterans program dedicated to serving our veterans in their home, at a care facility or the Inpatient Center. “We are privileged to serve our servicemen and women with dignity and compassion during their end-of-life needs. The Memorial Wreath Laying ceremony is a small token of our gratitude for their service and a beautiful remembrance for their families,” said Lisa Falk, social worker and We Honor Veterans Coordinator.
