Rams win BEC twinbill from Resorters

RANDOM LAKE – The Random Lake Rams swept a twinbill from the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters here Friday, 11-0 and 14-3, in Big East Conference baseball action.

The Rams upped their BEC record to 2-3 (2-5 overall). The Resorters fell to 1-4 in the league (1-4 overall).

Trenton LaFever fired a onehit shutout in the opener. He fanned eight batters, walked two and hit one.

Random Lake broke game one open with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take an 11-0 lead. Cody Holman’s two-run homer keyed the outburst.

The Resorters’ lone hit was a single by Noah Ruh leading off the fifth.

Brennen Cain was the losing pitcher. The Resorters committed five errors in the contest.


In the nightcap, the Rams erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the first to go up 10-3. The crucial hits were Holman’s two-run single, a two-RBI triple by Cordell Huiras and a two-run double by Travis Huiras.

Jordan Bahr’s two-run double sparked Elkhart’s three-run first. Bahr led EL-G in hits with two.

The Rams outhit EL-G 9-4 and drew eight walks to go with two hit batters.

Holman was the winning hurler and Max Kossman took the loss.
