HG breaks ground on new auditorium

The Howards Grove School District held a ground breaking ceremony for a new $4.7 million auditorium at the Howards Grove High School last week. Work will soon begin on the 449 seat auditorium, with an art gallery and conference room. Neumann Plumbing, Dean’s Electric, Bowman Excavating, and architect Abacus and General Contractor Jos. Schmitt will be working on the project. The project is currently under budget and with the help of many corporate sponsors, the school district is able to have all of the “bells and whistles” needed to make this facility top-notch. The finish date is scheduled for February of 2018. Handling the shovels for the groundbreaking were (left to right) Tim Stielow from National Exchange Bank and Trust, Lael Bagnall of the Howards Grove Education Foundation, Derrek LeMahieu from Abacus Architects, Howards Grove School District Superintendent Chris Peterson, Tim Schueler from Cleveland State Bank, Howards Grove School Board Treasurer Kari Bramstedt, Howards Grove School Board President Kimberly Plass, Terry Schaller from North Woods Superior Chemical, Dr. Gregory Grose from Prevea Health and Steve Schmitt of Jos. Schmitt and Sons Construction. Submitted photo The Howards Grove School District held a ground breaking ceremony for a new $4.7 million auditorium at the Howards Grove High School last week.
