Sitko earns Eagle award

Andrew Sitko was presented with scouting’s highest award at Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah High School. Pete Tarnowski served as master of ceremony and Larry Kraklau, grandfather, gave the invocation and benediction. Travis Moore, science teacher at ELGS, spoke about Sitko’s Eagle Scout project which was the construction of two compost tumblers. These tumblers are being used by the agriculture and family and consumer science classes to eliminate waste in high school. Sitko came up with the idea when it was being discussed in Moore’s AP Environmental Science class. Sitko is part of Troop 833 in Kiel, which he joined in the spring of 2010. As part of Troop 833 he served as senior patrol leader, patrol leader, scribe, and Order of the Arrow Representative. Sitko is a member of the Order of the Arrow and Arrow Brotherhood. He earned 27 merit badges including the four centennial merit badges (carpentry, pathfinding, signaling and tracking) offered by the Boy Scouts of America only in 2010. He is the son of Chris and Amy Sitko of Elkhart Lake. His brother Bryce is also a member of Troop 833.
