ASHIPPUN – The Northern Division, which included Matt Rhude and Derek Hall from the Plymouth Flames, routed the Southern Division, 9-2, in the Rock River Baseball League All-Star Game here Saturday afternoon.

Rhude, the starting right fielder, was 0-for-2 and got aboard when he was hit by a pitch. Hall, named to the North squad as a reserve utility player, played catcher and was 1-for-2 with a single.

The Flames’ veteran manager Rick Meyer managed the North team which included players from the Northeast and Northwest divisions. The Flames’ Zac Cain and Greg Rhude were selected all-stars but were unable to participate. Cain was named the starting first baseman and Rhude as a reserve shortstop.

“We played well. Everybody chipped in. It’s an honor to manage in the all-star game. It’s extra special to have your players in the game,” said Meyer.
