Meyer earns Eagle



Dawson Meyer 18, son of Chris and Christina Meyer, member of Boy Scout Troop 851 Plymouth, received his Eagle Scout Rank at an outdoor court of honor ceremony held at his home last month. Each Eagle Scout must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, show leadership skills, and successfully complete a community service project to meet all the Eagle Scout requirements. Dawson earned 26 merit badges and chose as his project to build and replace golf cart bridges at Evergreen golf course owned by the city of Plymouth. Dawson and his troop built, moved, and installed each bridge weighing on average around 400 lbs. Dawson needed to coordinate with the city of Plymouth to meet their specifications for each bridge's construction. Dawson is a member of the Order of the Arrow, Brotherhood rank, the Boy Scout National Honor Society. He served in various leadership positions including assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, troop guide, chaplain's aid, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, and junior assistant Scout Master.
