Robert (Bob) W. Joslyn, age 74, of Cascade, WI, passed away early Sunday morning (July 9, 2017) at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center, where he had been a patient for the past 5 weeks.

Bob, or “Joz” to many of his friends and colleagues, was born on March 16, 1943 in Berwyn, Illinois, a son of the late Walter and Helen (Jamiska) Joslyn.

Bob graduated from Plymouth High School in 1961 and attended UW-Milwaukee before graduating from UWMadison with a B.S. Degree in Journalism.

He married Bonnie Burkart on August 29, 1964 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. The couple resided together in the Plymouth area for 29 years. She preceded him in death on October 15, 1998.

He worked for Jaeger Bakery in Milwaukee in his early life before beginning his journalism career at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison. Bob stayed there for several years, eventually taking a position at the Sheboygan Press, where he worked over 30 years before retiring as the Managing Editor in 2002.

After his retirement, he drove school bus for Johnson School Bus Company “...for fun and a little money,” and served as the Town Chairman for the Town of Lyndon many years“... for less fun and even less money.”

Bob enjoyed woodworking, carving, making fine furniture, general tinkering, traveling, fishing, motorcycle rides, cooking, and gardening.

Survivors include his two sons: Scott Thomas Joslyn of Town of Sheboygan, Jeffrey N. Joslyn of Milwaukee; One daughter: Angela (Brad) Nagel of Glenbeulah; Two grandchildren: Lucas Van Price of Michigan, Ashley Van Price of Cascade; One great-granddaughter: Tesla Van Price; One brother: Ron (Barb) Joslyn of Cascade; Three brothers-in-law: Jack (Sandy) Burkart of Crystal Lake, Mike (Julie) Burkart of Crystal Lake, Bruce Burkart of Florida; and One sister-in-law: MaryAnn (Kenny) Merrell of Lemon Grove, CA.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Bonnie, his mother and father-in-law: John and Etta Burkart and one sister-in-law: Pat (Bruce) Martin.

Following Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a time of Celebration and Sharing of memories and stories will take place on Saturday afternoon (July 15, 2017) at 1:00 P.M. at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth.

Visitation will be held on Saturday (July 15) at Suchon Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M until the time of Sharing.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bob’s name.
