ALTHEA M. DOBRATZ

Althea M. (Asp) Dobratz, age 85, of Plymouth greeted her Lord and dearly missed husband on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.

She was born on May 4, 1932 in New London, the daughter of the late Edgar and Gertrude (Krueger) Asp. She graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1949. On October 13, 1957, she married Douglas Dobratz at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and together they traveled within the United States. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2012.

Althea was a medical assistant with Dr. Montgomery and after raising her girls worked as a secretary at St. John Lutheran School until her retirement in 1997. She had a strong faith and deep love for her grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League. She was also a member of the Rocky Knoll Auxiliary and the 55 Plus Club.

Althea is survived by two daughters Ronna (Andy) Gremminger of Sheboygan Falls; Renee (John) Roth of Pasadena, MD; three grandchildren Alex Roth, Rachel and David Gremminger; a brother Peter Asp; a sister-in-law, Anita Asp; a brother-in-law, Roland Dobratz and sisters-in-law, Angie Dobratz and Nancy Cummings. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Arlene Dobratz JoAnne Dobratz, Gordon Dobratz, Glenn Cummings and a brother, William Asp

Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM on Friday, July 14 at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth with Rev. Nathan Meador officiating. Entombment will take place next to Douglas in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum. Family and friends may gather at the church, 222 N. Stafford St, Plymouth, from 1 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM.

A memorial fund has been established in Althea’s name for St. John Lutheran Church Debt Retirement, the Gospel Light Choir, Youth Mission Trip and the Sheboygan County Chaplaincy Program.

Althea’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the ER and 3rd floor staff of Memorial Hospital and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Your kindness will always be remembered.
