James “Jim” F. Schuette, 71, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.

Jim was born on December 20, 1945 in Sheboygan to Walter and Irene (Biederwolf) Schuette. Following his 1964 graduation from Plymouth High School, Jim was employed at Knowles Manufacturing in Glenbulah. Jim served in the Air Force from 1965 until 1970 in Okinawa, Texas, and Vietnam.

On June 8, 1968, he married Mary E. (Donohue) Schuette in San Antonio, Texas.

Jim worked as a cable splicer for Wisconsin Telephone from 1970 until his retirement in 2001. Following his retirement, he worked at Walmart from 2002 until 2011.

Jim was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, gardening, going to the casino, and spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren.

In September of 2016, Jim was given the honor to travel with the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight for his dedicated service in Vietnam with his son, Jeff, as his guardian.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Schuette of Sheboygan Falls; four sons, Jeffery (Heidi) Schuette of Sheboygan Falls, Andrew (Dawn) Schuette of Sheboygan, Steven Schuette of Sheboygan Falls, and Terrence (Lori) Schuette of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Paige, Taylor, Emily, Alexander, Dakota, Haley, Samuel, and Isabella; one sister, Eileen Meyer (Schuette); and three brothers, Ken (Judy) Schuette, Richard (Sang) Schuette, and Tom (Diane) Schuette. Jim is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Eddie and Marion, two brothers, Frederick and Robert, and a brother-in-law, Elwood Meyer.

A funeral service to celebrate Jim’s life was held at 3:00 pm on Monday, July 17, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Mark Janzen officiating. Relatives and friends could gather at the church on Monday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm.

Memorials may be given to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in honor of Jim Schuette.
