ELLA EMILIE BISCHOFF

Ella Emilie Bischoff, formerly of Altamont, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning July 13, 2017 at 3 a.m. at the St. Francis Nursing Facility, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where she was recovering from a recent fall. She had been living with Karla Kiehnau in rural St. Cloud for the past five years after moving up from Altamont, ILL.

Ella was born into the Christian family of Charles and Louise Schroeder Campe, the oldest of four siblings.

She began her long life on March 2, 1928 at the family farm in Jackson Township, near Altamont, Illinois. Besides being a helpmate for her husband, the former Rev. Lester Bischoff, Sr., she also served as a part time nurse’s aide.

She married Lester L. Bischoff Sr. in the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Altamont, IL by the Rev. Karl Weinrich on December 10, 1950.A

Lester preceded her in death on November 4, 2004. She spent many years doing Bible studies at area nursing homes in Wisconsin and Illinois until her move to Wisconsin five years ago. She enjoyed her grandchildren, crossword puzzles, her cats, ice cream, watching the birds and going for walks.

Ella is survived by three sons, Lester L. (wife, Joan) Bischoff Jr. of Sheboygan, John (Karin) Bischoff of Sheboygan, Orville Bischoff and Denise of Detroit Lakes, MN, three daughters, Marilyn Theel of Elkhart Lake, Nancy (Jess) Nack of Sheboygan and Karla (Keith) Kiehnau of St. Cloud, one sister, Alma Hamrick of Effingham, IL, other relatives and friends.

Preceded Ella in death was her husband, parents, one grandson, Infant Theel, one son-in-law, Glenn Theel and two brothers, Otto Campe and Infant brother Campe.

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mount Calvary.

Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mount Calvary.

Burial has already taken place at the Zion Lutheran rural Altamont Church.

Memorials may be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope or the Winnebago Lutheran Academy ”Forward in Trust” building fund.
