Disability Pride Fest is slated to take place at Fountain Park in downtown Sheboygan Wednesday, Aug. 9, form 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will be held in conjunction with the Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization’s Farmer’s Market.

The third annual event will showcase and promote the abilities, talents and energy of disabled community members.

“The fest is being held in an effort to bring families, friends and neighbors together to celebrate all abilities,” stated SueAnn Schuh of the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sheboygan County.

The event will feature information, resources, walker and wheelchair checks, crafters and entertainment.

This year’s line-up includes performance by RCS’s handbell choir, theater skits and music by Mark Schorer of Sound Investment D.J. Services.

In addition, Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin 2017 Pageant winner Myranda Gereau of Plymouth will be on-hand at 1 p.m.

She will be promoting her platform of “We Are Able” by showing that people with disabilities can do a lot of things, even if it’s a bit different from the able-bodied community.
