PLYMOUTH – The Town Board was all over the lot Tuesday – parking lots, that is.

The board approved two conditional use permits for new or expanded parking lots, one for a church and one for a commercial building – both on the outskirts of the city.

Rev. Richard York presented the request from Christian Life Assembly of God Church for a new parking lot on their property at 933 Krumrey St.

“It would be directly to the north of our current parking area,” York told the supervisors. “Right now there’s hills and a lot of stuff there, but we’re going to bring a lot of that dirt over to our other parking lot,” to fill it in.

The new parking area would cover a little more than three-quarters of an acre, according to York, and would provide an additional 85 parking spaces.

The church is in the process of completing a major expansion of their building, which the new parking would help support.

The other permit was for expanded parking at a commercial building on the northwest corner of the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Carr Road.

Dr. Sharon Roberts of 20/20 Visions and SMSR LLC, owners of the building, explained that the plan is to add 11 additional parking spaces at the north end of the building.

The board was scheduled to open bids for road work on Country Aire Road, but postponed the opening until Thursday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m.

Town Chairman Warren Luedke explained that there had been some confusion over the numbers and timing of the bids, so the bid period was extended.

The project is to repave sections of the road both north and south of State 67. It would include roughly half a mile of Country Aire Road south of State 67 and roughly a mile or so of Country Aire from County Z to County C.

The board approved a class B combination retail liquor license for Road America.

Town Clerk/Treasurer Laura Raeder explained that Road America wants to sell wine and other liquor in its new gift shop and that requires a retail liquor license, which the track did not hold.
