Holzman leads Riverdogs to victory

Ashton Holzman cracked three hits and pitched five scoreless innings in leading the Howards Grove Riverdogs to a 16-5 rout over visiting St. Peter Saturday afternoon in East Shore Baseball League action.

Holzman started and earned the win. He allowed only two hits and had two strikeouts in five innings. Dylan Callahan also collected three hits for HG, including a double.

Austin Edge, Cole Reinemann and Mark Holzman con- tributed two hits each for the Riverdogs.

Jake Baker paced St. Peter in hits with two. Jack Nejdlo was the losing hurler.

The game ended after 6½ due to the 10-run rule.

MT. CALVARY GAME

In league play Sunday afternoon, host Mount Calvary outlasted HG, 14-11, fueled by an eight-run fifth.

Ashton Holzman belted two home runs for two of his three hits. Edge had a teamhigh four hits. Isaac Dirker and Reinemann banged out three hits each.

Josh Burg smacked a homer for Mount Calvary.

Matt Wells earned the victory and Edge took the loss.

The Riverdogs are 3-2 in the second half of the league season and 10-3 overall.
