25th Annual Cheesehead Chase raises $9,500

The event raised about $9,500 for the Safe Harbor Domestic Abuse Shelter and the Plymouth Professional Business Women’s scholarship program. – Review photo by Greg Ceilley PLYMOUTH – The 25th Annual Cheesehead Chase here July 8 raised about $9,500 to benefit the Safe Harbor Domestic Abuse Shelter for Sheboygan County and the Plymouth Professional Business Women’s scholarship program.

The PPBW hosted the event which included a five-mile run, two-mile run/walk, and a Cheese Curd Run for ages 5 and under which was one-block long.

The PPBW gave special thanks to all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped make the Cheesehead Chase a success. The event has raised over $125,000 since it began in 1993.

The top male runner in the five-mile race was 16-year-old Max Hassel of Plymouth with a time of 28 minutes, 0 seconds. Hassel, will be a junior at Plymouth High School this fall and runs track and cross country for the Panthers.

La Weser, 48, finished first overall among females in the two-mile race with a 14:41 effort.

The overall male winner in the two-mile event was 14-yearold Noah Watson in 12:42.
