Allen Berth, 84, of Cascade, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, late Tuesday evening (August 8, 2017) at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in the town of Mitchell on December 11, 1932, a son of the late William and Mabel (Weinbauer) Berth.

Allen attended Payne school, plus he served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.

On October 13, 1956 he married the love of his life Mary Ann Schaap; they resided most of their married life in Cascade WI.

Allen found his passion in Carpentry and for 37 years, working for several construction companies in Sheboygan County, he was given the opportunity to put his skills into practice.

Allen appreciated the simple things in life and loved to be surrounded by family and good friends. For 17 years he spent every Saturday night with those family and friends at the Plymouth Fair Grounds as a member of the EWSCA and his son-in-law (Chuck’s) race team. The following 19 years he and MaryAnn have been steady fixtures along with their crew in Section G row J seats 23 & 24. In his retirement he also found joy in fishing on Auburn Lake, playing cards, canning tomatoes and driving his favorite tractor merging hay and hauling loads on his daughter (Chris) and son-in-law (Joel’s) family dairy farm.

Allen was a hardworking, passionate man with a unique wit. His laughter was contagious and his heart so full he attracted friends of all ages. His grandchildren and great grandchildren adored him; he was special to everyone that knew him and will forever be in our hearts.

Survivors includes: His loving wife: Mary Ann Berth, two daughters; Deb (Chuck) Melis of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Chris (Joel) Schnelle of Cleveland, WI, four grandchildren; Chad (Marily) Melis of Lyons (CO), Tiffany (Eric) Scheible of Grafton (WI), Steve (Jenny) Schnelle of Howards Grove, WI, Stacy (Tom) Hermann of Cleveland, WI. He also had six great grandchildren; Hillary, Hailey and Henley Hermann, Logan and Caleb Schnelle and Max Scheible. One sister; Joyce Hansen of Random Lake, Mother-in Law; Arlen Schaap of Plymouth, WI, one brother-in-law; Jack (Penny) Schaap from Sheboygan, WI and many nieces and nephews.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mabel Berth, two brothers; Kenneth (Ruth) and Buddy (Lucille) Berth and one sister; Gertie (Gerald) Koepke.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 13, 2017) at 5:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Paul and Rev. Wanda Veldman co-officiated.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in the Town of Sheboygan.

Visitation was held on Sunday at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 3:00 P.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is to be established in Allen’s name.
