Wade House to host arts and crafts fair

A variety of artisans and craftspeople from Wisconsin will display and sell their wares at Wade House's 57th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair Sunday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 75 of the regions' best artists and craftsmen will exhibit at this lively family event on the tree-lined grounds of the Wade House Historic Site. The exhibitors employ a variety of mediums including creative metal art, painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, printmaking, jewelry, fiber art, glass, wood, leather, and photography.

This outdoor celebration of the arts also features good food with fare ranging from homemade ice cream to brats, burgers, gourmet fries and lemonade shakeups. Rides on a reproduction stagecoach will also be offered at the modest fee of $2 per person. Proceeds from this event help support the educational, historic programming at the site.

The Arts and Crafts Fair will take place at the Wade House Historic Site in Greenbush. Free parking is available off Center Street in Greenbush. Special event admission of $6 per adult includes entrance to the fair and entire site. Children ages 17 and under are free. Admission includes a horse-drawn vehicle ride from the historic area to the new Wade House Visitor Center and Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum, a guided tour of the stately, 27-room stagecoach hotel, a trip to the Herrling Sawmill to see and feel the rumble of an up-and-down, water-powered saw, a journey to the blacksmith's shop as well as entrance to the Arts and Crafts Fair.
