Panthers face tough foes in quadrangular

FOND DU LAC – The Plymouth Panthers finished 0-3 in Friday’s Fond du Lac Quadrangular girls tennis meet against strong competition but gained valuable experience.

PHS lost to Hartford and Oshkosh North by 5-2 scores and to Fond du Lac, 6-1, in dual action.

“Overall, we played seven three-set tiebreakers on the day, winning three. A bounce here and there and the day could have turned out much better for us,” said Panther head coach Scott Milslagle.

“Overall, I am very happy with how the team has started the season. We have really played some strong competition and that will only make us stronger as the sea- son progresses. You can see them getting better and more confident with each match.”

Plymouth’s winners versus Hartford were Amanda Krueger at No. 2 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Ellie Potrykus and Savannah Wiese.

Winning matches for PHS against Oshkosh North were Katie Benedict at No. 4 singles and Potrykus and Wiese, No. 2 doubles.

In the Fond du Lac dual, the Panthers’ victor was the No. 2 doubles team of Potrykus and Wiese.
