Sunday landscape drives planned

“Sunday Drive with Glacial Lakes Conservancy” is a new event designed to share the beautiful landscapes of the area with the general public.

“Similar to the Sunday drives many of us recall as children, we want people to rediscover the beauty of our local landscape and the importance of preserving land in the area,” describes Mary Piehl, Executive Director of Glacial Lakes Conservancy.

Scheduled on Sunday, October 1, 2017, begin the adventure at 1:00 p.m. from two different starting points – north in Two Rivers or south in the Town of Holland. Each route will consist of roughly 60 miles or 2 or more hours of travel time. Both trips conclude at the Allan Voskuil Wildlife Preserve in Chilton with a picnic and bonfire. The event will wrap up near sunset at 6:30 p.m.

Stops at properties will include a list of natural features to enjoy on future visits. Properties highlighted for this event are always open to the public for light recreation and enjoyment. Watch for fun and prizes along the way!

To join, register today on at  Reservations are requested before September 25, 2017. Cost of $15 per person includes property information, maps and the picnic. Directions to your first stop will be forwarded to you a week before the event. This and our seasonal land walks are provided for the education and enjoyment of our members and general public.

Glacial Lakes Conservancy is a private, non-profit land conservation organization offering land conservation options to landowners and organizations in Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Kewaunee, Calumet and Fond du Lac counties.
