Defense dominates as Panthers tie Port

PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth Panthers battled Port Washington to a 0-0 draw in a nonconference boys soccer match here Thursday afternoon.

PHS is 3-1-1 on the season and the Pirates are 0-2-2.

“Both teams played well, defensively – controlling the attacks and stopping every opportunity to score,” said Panther head coach Rommy Herrera.

“Offensively, we need to do a better job working harder to finish and create more opportunities to score.”

PHS had only three shots on goal, compared to six for the Pirates. Panther goalies Gabe Thull and Matt Klug made three saves each and Pirate goalie River Clark was credited with three.
