Obstruction

To the Editor,

I thank Mary Wilke for helping me to prove my point. I recently wrote about the ability of Democrats, with their control over much of the news media and academia, to not only politically damage Republican leaders but also ruin the political career of any Democrat who would stray from the progressive doctrine.

It is evident Democrats have devoured the whole plateful of bologna the progressives in the media set before them. For anyone to still believe that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia is mind-boggling. It proves once more that if a lie is repeated over and over again, anyone who wants to believe it will. That is called brain-washing and is a tactic used to sway public opinion. That is how political opponents of the progressive left are damaged or destroyed, as my original letter pointed out.

It is time for Democrats and Republicans to work together to make us proud to be Americans. That means acknowledging the will of the people by giving President Trump a chance to prove he can make things better. Obstruction by Democrats of every Trump proposal, regardless of merit, is no solution. For sure, whatever shortcomings the President may have, he does have at heart the best interests of the people of these United States. I can’t say that much for the last Democrat president whose legacy is a failing health care system, doubling the national debt, identity politics and racial strife.

Once again, I “gasp” at this writer’s exaggerations, misinformation, and hypocrisy! It is even more ironic that this letter appeared in the Plymouth Review right under the paper’s editorial on, “One More Reason Sheboygan County is Friendly” …!!!??? By just changing a few words in the writer’s hateful letter we could have this… To the Editor, I thank Dennis Gasper for helping me to prove my point. I recently wrote about the ability of Republicans, with their control over much of the fake news media (like Faux News) and academia (like the defunct Trump University), to not only politically damage Democratic leaders but also ruin the political career of any Republican who would stray from the far-right’s regressive doctrine. It is evident Republican have devoured the whole plateful of bologna the regressive right in their fake news media set before them. For anyone to still believe that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia is mind-boggling. It proves once more that if the stonewalling and changing stories (drip…drip…drip) are repeated over and over again, anyone who wants to believe no collusion, will. That is called brain-washing and is a far-right tactic used to sway public opinion. That is how political opponents of the regressive right are damaged or destroyed, as has been demonstrated. It is time for Democrats and Republicans to work together to make us proud to be Americans. That means acknowledging the will of the people (63 million voted for Trump…70 million did not…and 94 million did not vote) by giving President Trump more chances to discredit himself. Blind support and ignoring Trump threats to our constitution and democracy should make Republicans realize that will not result in balanced solutions to our problems. Trump’s shortcomings are “yuuuuge,” with some of his actions heartless, with the best interests intended for his narcissist self, instead of the people of these United States. We need to look back at the last Democrat president whose legacy included finally doing something about our health care crisis, saving us from a Republican caused great recession, resisting Republican political/legislative actions that mainly favored the wealthy, and realistically dealing with the racial strife that still exists in America today (that Trump brought to the surface with his campaign that emboldened racists). Someone who is still “gasping” in Sheboygan County
