Sheboygan Kennel Club Dog Show at fairgrounds

The 77th and 78th annual Sheboygan Kennel Club Dog Shows will be held at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds, 229 Fairview Dr., Plymouth, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23 and 24.

Conformation judging will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. All seven AKC groups will be represented: Sporting, Hound, Toy, Terrier, Working, Non-sporting and Herding. Group winners will advance to the Best-in-Show judging.

See unusual breeds such as Chinese Cresteds and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers or perennial favorites like the Labrador Retriever, Poodle, Beagle or Samoyed.

Two years ago, one of the SKC Dog Shows was one by “Brazen” the Whippet, one of the top dogs in the nation. Brazen, also called GCH Sporting Fields Shameless, won the Hound Group at the 2015 Eukanuba National Dog Show and was one of seven dogs up for Best-in-Show. You never know which top show dogs you might see at the SKC Dog Shows.

Gate entry Saturday and Sunday will be $5 per carload. Concessions will be available.

Dog lovers will find many items, including dog equipment, dog food, collectibles and clothing in the show booths.

There will be an SKC raffle with many items just for dog lovers. The raffle winners will be drawn at 12 noon on Sunday and items must be claimed by the end of group judging Sunday.
