Fine team effort keys Tigers’ sweep

HOWARDS GROVE – A good team effort propelled the Howards Grove Tigers to a sweep over Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs, 25-22, 25-20, 25-10 in a nonconference girls volleyball match here Sept. 12.

Matilda Gratto led the Tigers in kills with six and Emily Bruckschen had five. Katy Berg had a team-high five ace serves. Leah Parnitzke led in assists with 11 and also had two digs and aces each.

“It was a nice team victory at home. This group is improving every time they step on the court on all different aspects of the game,” said Tiger head coach Brett Damrow.

“We have to cherish every opportunity to compete and improve. With our young team our growth will be there but it will come with ups and downs.”
