· Retire Right: This comprehensive preparation course is for anyone looking at retiring in the near - or even not-so-near - future. It covers topics such as Social Security, pension choices, Medicare, legal issues, long-term care, and investment management. While not a technical course, it is meant to raise awareness of the important decisions surrounding retirement. Class will meet with instructor Jeremy Burri of Veritas Financial from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesdays from Oct. 10 to 17; fee is $6 until Sept. 29, then $16.

· Seed Saving: This fun workshop will introduce the exciting world of seed saving by looking at different plants and how to collect seeds from them. Learn the importance of seed saving, how seed saving can grow a better garden, and the dynamics of seed production from pollination to seed storage. Participants will go outside to get an idea of what to collect and how to process the seeds. Class will meet with instructor John Holzwart of Plant Based Services from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 in the Food Science & Agriculture Center; fee is $15 until Sept. 29, then $25.
