Norbert C. Mohs, 100, of Plymouth, WI, passed away early Monday morning (Sept. 25, 2017) at Kindred Hearts in Plymouth where he had been a resident for the past 3 years.

He was born on May 14, 1917 in the Town of Plymouth, a son of the late Henry C. and Adila Prange Mohs.

He attended St. John Lutheran School.

On June 4, 1938, he married to Helen Urban at New Holstein, WI.

He was a carpenter by trade. He worked for Art Kestell Carpenter Contractor in New Holstein for 4 years. During World War II, he worked at M. B. Corporation in New Holstein. In 1946, they moved to Plymouth, WI where he worked for Peter Schwitters Carpenter Contractor for 17 years and for R. H. Versch for 2-1/2 years. He then worked at Kubish Building Center for 16 years until he retired on December 31, 1978.

Norbert and Helen celebrated their 50th Anniversary on June 4, 1988. She preceded him in death on December 22, 1989.

He was a voting member of St. John Lutheran Church where he served on the Envelope Committee, the Board of Elders; the Church Council and on the Nominating committee. He was an usher since 1933 - 1998 and Head Usher for 45 years. He also served for many years on the Lutheran World Relief Clothing Drive for St. John Lutheran Church and was the chairman of the Band Concert refreshments for 16 years.

He was a member of the Senior Citizen Dartball Team. He also belonged to Rocky Knoll Auxiliary and the Historical Research Center in Sheboygan Falls.

Survivors include three sons: Carl (Patricia) Mohs of Racine, WI, Richard (Virginia) Mohs of Sierra Vista, AZ, Allen (Susan) Mohs of Benson, AZ; Seven grandchildren; Two step-grandchildren; and Seven Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one Grandson; One Sister and brother-inlaw: Viola and Ervin Oehldrich.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 27, 2017) at 1:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Pat Hennen, Spiritual Care Coordinator for the Heartland Hospice officiated. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends could call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 12:00 Noon on Wednesday until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Norbert’s name for Daybreak Devotions Lutheran Hour or the Student Aid Fund for the Ministry.
