PHS placed four runners in the top-14 overall as it scored 60 points. Defending champion Sheboygan North took second with 70. Howards Grove finished eighth with 226, followed by Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah at 265.

Junior Lauren Rabe paced the Panthers with a fourth-place finish in 21 minutes, 1.59 seconds on the 3.1-mile course at Sheboygan Lutheran. Senior Mattie Milz was HG’s top runner as she took 22nd in 22:36.30. EL-G was led by junio Mia Rentmeester who placed 47th in 24:42.08.

HG was led by senior Sam Sixel who earned 10th in 18:17.86. Junior Ransom Yasko led EL-G – finishing 55th in 21:23.44.

Stephen Lavey of CG-B won the boys race in 17:12.35. The girls winner was Arissa Scott of Sheboygan Falls with a time of 20:41.41.

“Our teams did a nice job tonight,” said Panther head coach Jay Grosshuesch.

“Our girls team had a great pack to lead to the win, with a minute and a half between our top-scoring running and our fifth runner. Lauren ran a nice second half of the race as she moved up in the field.

“For the boys, Isaac put together another great race and Max [Hassel] Gabe [Olsen] and Charlie [Waitkus] also chipped in with nice runs,” said Grosshuesch.

“I was a little concerned that with the high heat and humidity the [HG] athletes would have an off-day today. However, that was not the case,” said HG head coach Gary Kalk.

“In typical fashion, the Tigers responded with five boys running career-best times – Brandon Beeck, John Bell, Carson Moore, Sam Sixel and Chase Williams. Mattie Milz turned in a seasonbest time for the ladies,” he said.

“I would like to commend Mia Rentmeester, Sofie Sutcliffe and Delilah Quasius for the hard work they’ve put into this season,”said EL-G head coach Erin Gross.

Rentmeester, Sutcliffe and Quasius set personal records in the County Meet.

Connor Schmidt of PHS won the junior varsity boys race in 19:11.68. Plymouth’s Amanda Triebensee took second in the JV girls event with a 23:20.16 clocking. Halle Boldt of Sheboygan South was first in 22:54.37.
