Youth book fest coming this weekend

Wisconsin’s only free children and teen’s book festival returns to the Bookworm Gardens, Mead Public Library, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and the Weill Center in Sheboygan Oct. 13-15.

This three-day children and teen’s book festival provides an opportunity for area youth and their families to explore and discover stories through the unique opportunity of interacting with the authors and illustrators who create them.

Events taking place throughout the weekend include author readings, art making with illustrators, writing workshops, costumed book characters, book signings, a bedtime pajama concert, a magic show, and author trading cards.

The festival’s special events feature a bedtime pajama and concert sing along with Barney Saltzberg at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center on Friday, Oct. 13, a magic show by Rondini the Magician at the Weill Center on Sunday, Oct. 15, and multiple opportunities throughout the weekend to meet and greet costumed characters Lilly, Rainbow Fish and Peter Rabbit.
