Park legal oversight event set

The Friends of Black River Forest, Forward Sheboygan Planning Group and Save Our will hold a Bands and Booyah Fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 21, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. in the Windjammer Room at Lakeshore Lanes, 2519 S. Business Dr., Sheboygan.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward legal expenses incurred by the groups in their efforts to block the Kohler Co.'s request to utilize state-owned land in Kohler Andrae State Park as part of their development of a new lakefront golf course in the town of Wilson.

The $10 entry fee includes a bowl of Booyah (stew-like soup), a full day of music, kids and other activities, 50/50 prize drawings, bucket drawings, pumpkin dessert making contest and bake sale, silent auction of nature photography and more. Children age 6 and under are free, age 7-12 $3. Pizza and a cash bar will also be available.

The music lineup will feature local musicians including Bell Weather, Bev Rawlings and Jim Wilsing, Shaman Juan & Jon Prigge, Alex Simmons and others.
