Informational sessions on CPR scheduled

The Advance Care Planning Coalition, based on feedback from prior community conversations, has scheduled “Advance Care Planning: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – is CPR Right for Me or a Loved One?”

The coalition will be hosting two informational sessions on CPR. Learn more about what CPR involves and join a panel of experts to discuss the risks, benefits and state laws surrounding CPR on either:

Tuesday, Oct. 24, 6 – 8 p.m., at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms in the Heritage House Event Center in Sheboygan Falls.

Thursday, Nov. 2, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at Generations, 1500 Douglas Dr., Plymouth.

These sessions are free; registration is appreciated but is not required. You may register by calling (920) 451-5513 or online at aurora.org/events, keyword “Resuscitation.” This is not a CPR certification course.

When you or someone you know requires CPR, their heart has stopped beating or they stop breathing. Do you want to be resuscitated if your heart stops or you stop breathing? This is a common question in hospitals and other care facilities.

Community organizations participating in continuing the Community Conversation about Advance Care Planning include Aurora Health Care, Aging & Disability Resource serving Sheboygan County, Embrace Care Management & Managed Home Care, Generations, Lakeshore Community Health Care, Fresh Meals on Wheels, Public Health – Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, Senior Activity Center of Sheboygan, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Internal Medicine Associates, Sheboygan Progressive Care Center and United Way of Sheboygan County.
