FFA collecting food on Halloween

Halloween is your chance to help feed local families for the upcoming holiday season.

Plymouth FFA students are planning on Trick or Treating for Canned Food as part of their desire to help our community and fight hunger. During Plymouth’s official trick-or-treating hours from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, “trick-or-treaters” will ask residents to fill their bags with canned goods and non-perishable items instead of candy.

The highest needed item is canned fruit, although anything is appreciated, according to Jerry Preder, Plymouth Food Pantry president.

The goal is to collect 500 pounds of food items, and your help is greatly appreciated. Part of the FFA’s motto is “Living to Serve,” and that is exactly what FFA members want to do - serve their community.
