Kohler falls in state soccer

MILWAUKEE – Sturgeon Bay handed the Kohler Blue Bombers their only loss of the season, 1-0, in a Division 4 boys state soccer tournament semifinal match Friday afternoon at the Uihlein Soccer Park’s Kohler Engines Stadium.

Kohler, the No. 2 seed, finished an outstanding season with a 27-1-1 record. Third-seeded Sturgeon Bay lost in Saturday’s championship match to Racine Prairie, 1-0, to finish 18-5-2. Prairie, the No. 1 seed, posted a 17-4-3 mark.

Carson Dvorak scored the winning goal for the Clippers against Kohler at the 35:27 mark in the first half. CJ Fairchild was credited with an assist.

The Clippers led 6-4 in shots on goal. Bomber goalie Collin Adams made five saves and Clipper goalie Trent Maas had four.
