Duane E. Thayer, age 84, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (November 21, 2017) surrounded by his family at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

He was born on February 4, 1933, son of the late Raymond and Alice (Abers) Thayer.

Duane was married to Kathleen Netzer. Together they had five children.

He was later married to the love of his life, Karen Pratt. The couple resided in Elkhart Lake for many years before moving to Plymouth. Karen preceded him in death on April 16th, 2015.

In his early years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and spending time at the cabin up north. He also enjoyed shooting pool where he and his wife Karen won seventeen trophies. He loved to sing karaoke, and did so often. Duane was quite the crooner, and many will miss hearing him sing his karaoke favorites.

Survivors include: Three children: Kraig (Donna) Thayer of New Holstein, Kristine (Jeff) Farmer of Sheboygan, and Lisa Thayer of Sheboygan; Eight grandchildren, 20 Great grandchildren; and one Great Great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by: His parents; Wife: Karen; Son: Keith Thayer; Daughter and Son-in-law: Kay and Paul Bunge; and Brother and Sister-inlaw: Stanley and Audrey Thayer.

Following Duane’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Duane’s final resting place will be with his wife Karen.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday evening (November 30, 2017) at 7:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Tom Fleischmann will officiate.

Visitation will take place at the Suchon Funeral Home on Thursday (Nov. 30) from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Duane’s name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
