Wade House part of coat drive

Wade House historic site in Greenbush will once again be participating in the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s “The Big Bundle Up” charity campaign, which collects warm winter items for those in need across Wisconsin.

This is the seventh year of “The Big Bundle Up.” To date, the program has collected more than 103,400 warm winter items to help families in need.

Sheboygan and Fond du Lac County residents are encouraged to drop off new and gently used coats, sweaters, hats, mittens and other warm clothing at Wade House’s visitor center located at W7965 State 23 in Greenbush.

Items may be dropped off between now and Jan. 2, 2018. During the seven-week collection period, Wade House hopes to collect more than 250 items, which will be used to help keep Wisconsin residents warm this winter.

All winter gear donated at Wade House will be given to Safe Harbor and Bridgeway House in Sheboygan and Solutions Center and Support Services in Fond du Lac.

In addition to Wade House, other collection sites, including Travel Wisconsin Welcome Centers, are located throughout the state. Visit TravelWisconsin.com for a full listing of donation sites.

“The Big Bundle Up embodies what the state of Wisconsin is all about. It’s an award-winning campaign in which the entire tourism industry works together for a common cause - to bring warmth to those in need,” said Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett.

Wade House historic site is one of 12 Wisconsin Historical Society historic sites and museums. For more information, please call 920-526-3271 or visit www.wadehouse.org
