John D. Ellis, age 89, of Plymouth, WI, passed away Friday Morning (Nov. 24, 2017) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility in Plymouth where he had been a resident for the past four weeks.

He was born on June 24, 1928 in Sheboygan, WI, a son of the late Dwight and Edith (Beste) Ellis.

He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School and attended University of Wisconsin for 2 years.

He served as a pilot in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1953 during the Korean War.

He married Winona Doering on November 15, 1949.

He was a salesman for Plastics Engineering in Sheboygan, retiring in 1990. After his retirement, the couple moved from Crystal Lake to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, where they lived for 20 years.

He enjoyed golf and was a member of Quit Qui Oc Golf Course for many years.

Survivors include: His wife: Winona of Plymouth; Two sons: John (Lois) Ellis of Maui, Hawaii and Jay (Peggy) Ellis of Plymouth; Three Grandchildren: Christopher (Lisa) Ellis of Racine, WI, Carly (Christian) Egoavil of Atlanta, GA, Eric Ellis of Holmen, WI; Two great grandchildren: Amara and Soren Egoavil and One sister: Donna Sanders.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Grace Graef.

Following John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services.
