Nelson, Meiselwitz lead Resorters to win

ELKHART LAKE – Junior Cody Nelson and sophomore Ben Meiselwitz earned pins at 145 and 160 pounds, respectively, to lead the host Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah/ Howards Grove Resorters to a 45-30 dual wrestling victory over Reedsville Tuesday night.

The Resorters improved their Big East Conference dual record to 1-1 (6-1 overall).

Nelson scored his pin in 2:52 and Meiselwitz needed only 53 seconds for his fall.

Elkhart had four forfeit wins which gave them 24 team points.

“Reedsville has a very tough team. I was happy to walk away with the team victory,” said Resorter head coach Larry Ward.

“We got huge wins from Bahr, Cody Rebedew and Nelson. Cody scored five points in the last 20 seconds of the match to earn the victory.”

Rebedew posted a 7-3 deci- sion over Jordan Ingalls at 126.

“Our losses came from our young wrestlers who matched up against their state-caliber opponents. Our guys were in those matches – scoring points until they got caught out of position. They have a very bright future in high school wrestling,” said Ward.
