Village approves public works projects

HOWARDS GROVE—Public Works Chairman Lee Kunze recommended three projects that were approved by the Village Board Tuesday.

Payment of $213,876.00 to JF Ahern was approved for the wastewater plant upgrade project.

Payment of $198,124.57 to Kip Gulseth Construction Company Inc. for the Appletree Road project was approved.

The preventative maintenance service agreement with J&H Controls for the heating and cooling system at the Village Hall was approved. The contract is for computer programming and software updates with an estimated 20 hours service agreement per year.

The 2018 fire protection contract with the Howards Grove Fire Department was approved for the budgeted amount of $132,527.24.

Plan Commission Chairman Chris Heili recommended that the extraterritorial review of the certified survey map for Gene Sommer, W3351 Garton Rd., be approved. Sommer is splitting the remaining acreage into four lots. The motion was approved.

The Jan. 2, 2018 board meeting was cancelled.

A temporary picnic license application was approved for the Howards Grove Fire Department Annual Brat Fry to be held on Feb. 25, 2018.

Clerk/Treasurer Jo Ann Lesser recommended election workers Dorothy Bersch, Geri Brendel, Richard Dolgner, JoAnn Gadicke, Sharyn Mondloch, Janet Homes, Donna Menart, Deborah Morelle, Diane Mulder, Wayne Mulder, Diane Ninnemann, Lee Schoessow, Anne Vogel, Diane Wieland and Elizabeth Rather for the 2018-2019 election cycle. The motion was approved.
