Elkhart shot only 17 percent (6 of 38) from the field. The Resorters were only 5 of 15 at the foul line and were also plagued by 20 turnovers.

“We had some good looks, we just could not get a shot to fall,” said Resorter head coach Donny Kulow.

“Mishicot struggled shooting also [at 27 percent from the field] but they had 22 offensive rebounds which gives you second and third chances to score.”

The Indians raised their BEC record to 5-2 (8-3 overall). The Resorters dropped to 0-7 in the league (0-8 overall).

Ellie Ausloos led Elkhart in scoring with eight points. Shannon De Vries had a teamhigh five rebounds. Avery Feldmann led in assists with two.

Ausloos paced the Resorters in steals with two. Kianna Bahr led in blocked shots with two.

Kulow thought De Vries, who also plays on the junior varsity, was a bright spot with her rebounding in limited action.

Kylie Schmidt was the Indians’ top scorer with 11.
