To the Editor,

Let me provide you with a personal experience that demonstrates the type of community we have in Elkhart Lake.

About a week ago, I slipped a fell on an icy patch in the street near to the Elkhart Lake village park. I was momentarily dazed.

Immediately people rushed to me to see what they could do to assist and some stayed with me until I was able to leave.

Inasmuch as I was laying on the roadway and, apparently, the police did not want me to move, some good citizens brought covering to place over me.

It turned out that I did not suffer any injuries and I was able to leave after talking with the ambulance team. After I returned home I got phone calls asking how I was doing and I was asked the same question later by people I met on the street.

The circumstance demonstrated the caring nature of people who live, work and shop in Elkhart Lake, a wonderful place to live.
